Do I need to purchase hardware and/or software to use the Podcast Management System?
No, our system is a web-based application that is run from our servers. Therefore, there is no need for any installations or hardware purchases to use the system.
How do teachers and students access the system?
When a school signs up for the system, they are given a unique web address (e.g. www.k12learn.com/your_school) and have a login screen at that point.
Does K12Learn use banner advertising?
Absolutely not! We are 100% advertising free, especially within the user interface. The only thing closest to advertising we allow is in our Resources area that points you to some great sites that helps you create better podcasts. Other than that, you will never see a pop-up or Google Ad on our site.
What is the limit on the number of users or bandwidth?
This is one of the best parts about the K12Learn system; we have no restrictions on a school's usage. There is no limitations regarding bandwidth or users. We are here to help facilitate digital learning between teachers and students, not measure bytes of data transfer.
How can schools pay for the system?
The obvious answer is through technology monies. However, the Podcast Management System is at its core a communication tool for schools to use. Therefore it could be utilized as a remediation or tutoring system which could be paid for by NCLB funds or practically any other K12-related grant.
What license agreements do you have?
There are two different license agreements; school and district. As of now we do not provide a scaled down version for individual teachers to use for a single class.
Does K12Learn provide podcast content for teachers to use?
Content developed by K12Learn, no. However, we do enable teachers to share their podcasts with other teachers or the community as a whole. If you have created a podcast and want to privately invite a teacher to utilize it, you can. If you have created a podcast and do not mind what teachers use it, we have the ability to share with anyone. Of course, you can keep them private too.
